What Type Of Paper Should I Use For My Resume?

Technology has made it possible for us to have several types of papers that can be used for a variety of purposes. Depending on what you intend to do with the paper; you can select an appropriate paper that would definitely be useful for your intended work.

The technology for producing paper has greatly improved over the years. It is now possible to have papers of all types of texture, hardness and sizes.

Large printing houses often purchase these papers in bulk and then cut them out to size with special industrial paper cutting machines. A printing house that specializes in printing high quality photo magazines may desire high grade paper that will enhance the picture quality of the photos in the magazines they print. Their businesses would suffer a heavy blow if they are unable to meet the high requirements of clients.

When it comes to printing photos, high grade glossy paper is just the right type of paper to be used for this purpose. Printing houses often use this type of paper for work that requires them to print photos.

Glossy papers help to enhance the picture quality and make sure that every tiny detail associated with the picture is brought out. The picture quality of photos printed on high grade glossy papers are comparatively better than those printed on normal papers.

This is the reason why some people prefer to use high grade glossy papers in the printing of business cards. Doing so can be considered as a step in the right direction considering the fact that most business cards carry the business logo and design of the card owner.

However, just because hard glossy papers are suitable for those who want to print business cards does not mean that they can be used for printing out resumes. The appearance of a professionally created resume is very important.

There are two ways by which you can ensure that your resume has an attractive appearance; the first is to check the format of presentation while the second has to do with the paper on which the resume is printed.

A normal A4 size white sheet of paper which is neither too thin nor too thick would be ideal for resumes. Using a thin piece of paper leaves the resume prone to easy tear when a little bit of stress is applied to it whereas a thick piece of paper would pose problems for the person who may want to bend the document or fold it.

The resume can also be printed on a cream or light grey colored paper although white paper is at all times the ideal candidate. Resist the temptation to print your resume on a brightly colored sheet of paper as that will not make the resume look professional.

It is easy to print your resume right from your personal computer using a personal printer. This is so because the texture of paper used for printing resumes is the same as that used for all types of standard office documents.
